This page is a tribute to Johan Edvard Hyltén.
The name that´s now passing on to Little Edward:
Johan Edvard Hyltén was Little Edward´s Grandfathers Grandfather!!
Hope I got that right.

The story of Johan Edvard Hyltén!!
Told by his grandson Gunnar .Little Edward´s Grandfather
The photo above was probably taken on Johan Edvard´s 80:th birtday, 1932.
John Hyltén, one of his son´s made the wodden figure at the bottom of this page.
It´s said that is very much like what Johan Edvard looked like.
He was born i Hyltan, Gnosjö, on the 17:th of april 1852.
He got married in 1881 to Christina Andersdotter från Marås, Gnosjö.
They had 13 children, and Gunnar´s mother was the second youngest. Her name was Olly and she was borned 1901.
Johan Edvard´d Great grandfather and Grandfater where wathcmakers. They made big watches , like the one you see standing on the floor for example.
Now , Johan Edvard started to work at Husquarna vapenfabrik, where he help develop the first Husquarna sewinmachine. And there he learnt a lot about how to run a factory.
There were almost no factories in Gnosjö at that time.
When he returned he started up a mechanic factory. Manufacturing what still is called "smålandspungar. A type of wallet with some parts in metal.
This business and the industry grew very fast. Up to 40-50 employees.
Some of the employees left and started up their own factory.
Hyltén´s metalfabric says been the start of as many as a 100 new factories.
All of them were in one way or another connected to that first factory, started by Johan Edvard. Here in Sweden we have an expression called "The Gnosjöspirit"!
And Johan Edvard is the man that everybody says made it all happen.
He also took part of developing the community to. So there was a lot of work he made so that the community got, railway, bank and a much bigger school.
He was the first in Sweden to get an electricity generator and a waterdriven turbine. Located at a small waterfall near the factory.
He had to write to the King of Sweden to get permission for that.
This was in 1898!!
When he died in 1934, 2 of his son´s took over the business.
And in 1974 ,
Hyltén´s metalfactory was closed down. It´s now a museum.
With a lot of tourists visiting every year.
So Little Edward is now passing this very historic name forward.
And some day, I know that he will be very proud to carry the name of a very big man in to the next generation.
That is a privillige I think.!!!

This is the wodden figure that John Hyltén made.
So I have tried to tell this amazing story .
Based on what Gunnar Nilsson (Little Edwar´s Grandfather) have told me !
Thank you so much Gunnar for sharing the story of such a great man.
And I´m sorry for any wrongspellig!
Greetings from/
